A Postdoctoral Fellowship opportunity is immediately available for the highly motivated individual in the laboratory of Dr. Ya-Huei Kuo, in the Department of Hematologic Malignancies Translational Science.

 

The research goals in the Kuo laboratory are to discover mechanisms of leukemogenesis and leukemia stem cell persistence; to develop mechanism-based targeted therapeutics; and to deliver useful tools to monitor and predict disease progression or therapy response. The laboratory utilizes genetic mouse models and patient-derived xenografts of leukemia combined with cell culture, biochemistry, functional genomics, high-throughput sequencing and mathematical modeling approaches.

As a successful candidate, you will:

·         Work on identifying mechanisms contributing to leukemia pathogenesis, immune evasion and therapy resistance

·         Develop novel leukemia therapeutics

·         Participate in a multidisciplinary team work to study state-transition and leukemia potential dynamics to inform disease evolution and adaptive therapy.

Qualifications

Your qualifications should include:

·         A Ph.D. or M.D.

·         Experience working with mice, including blood sampling and transplantation

·         Experience in multi-parameter flow cytometry, biochemistry, and molecular/cell biology techniques

·         Experience in bioinformatics and metabolic studies

·         Effective communication skills and collaborative mindset
