We have a great opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse in our outpatient infusion clinic in Torrance. The nurse plays a crucial role in providing specialized care to our patients in the outpatient chemotherapy infusion clinic.  Your primary responsibility is to deliver comprehensive nursing care to the patients while assisting them through their treatment journey offering emotional support and education.  The nurses at City of Hope . As a successful candidate, you will:

 

  •  Assessing patients’ health status
  • Developing and implementing care plans
  • Administering chemotherapy and other medications, monitoring patents’ vital signs and symptoms
  • Providing education and support to patients and their families and coordinating care and follow-up appointments. Help with managing side effects and complications from their cancer treatment.  Involved in quality improvement initiatives, and patient education programs specific to cancer care.
  • Utilizes the nursing process based on evidence-based best practices to meet the patient care needs.
  • Evaluates and adjust the nursing care process as necessary with consultation as needed, The nurse collaborates with other disciplines of the health care team to ensure the delivery of safe and timely care

Qualifications

 Your qualifications should include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing or master’s degree in nursing
  • Three to five years related experience (oncology)
  • Current California Registered Nurse license
  • Current BLS certification from American Heart Association
  • ONS certification 
  • National certification (must obtain within three years and must be maintained thereafter to retain Clin III status)
