Under the direct supervision of the Principal Investigator, or designee, the Research Associate I will perform a variety of research experiments. The Dr. Marcel van den Brink Laboratory, a transplant immunology laboratory at City of Hope, has an outstanding academic environment focused on immunology, microbiota and bone marrow transplantation and has a strong track record of research associates subsequently attending medical school or other academic opportunities.
As a successful candidate, you will:
- Utilize laboratory equipment and established protocols to perform a variety of research experiments. Record and validate results for accuracy and completeness.
- May modify protocols.
- Write standard operating procedures and reports.
- Maintain records of work performed, including results and methodology; utilizing records may calculate, graph, and compile data.
- Develop techniques and expertise in one or more areas relevant to laboratory research projects.
- Ensure that all laboratory activities are carried out in compliance with safety procedures and guidelines for handling, storage, and disposal of materials.
Qualifications
Your qualifications should include:
- Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences.
- 0-2 years of research/laboratory experience.
- The team is targeting a 2-year commitment.
