Position Summary
City of Hope Hospital is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Clinical Nurse to join our 2D Clinic team. The 2D Clinic specializes in urology for the care of patients with medical and/or surgical oncology needs. The Clinical Nurse provides compassionate, evidence-based nursing care for patients. Responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning, assisting with procedures, and patient education. The Clinical Nurse collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive and individualized care that addresses the physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs of patients and their families. This opportunity is for full-time, 8-hour shifts (5 shifts per week), and is designated for the day shift (roughly 8/8:30am start time). The clinics are closed on weekends and holidays.
As a successful candidate, you will:
- Direct Patient Care: Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients, including assessment, care planning, treatment administration, and ongoing monitoring.
- Procedures: Assist urologists with in-office procedures, including cystoscopies, bladder scans, biopsies, catheter placements, and other urologic treatments, ensuring patient comfort and adherence to sterile techniques.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, side effects, self-care, and follow-up care instructions.
- Clinical Assessment: Monitor and assess patients for changes in condition, providing timely intervention and escalation of care as required.
- Collaborative Care: Work closely with oncologists, social workers, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals to create and implement individualized care plans.
- Patient Advocacy: Act as a patient advocate, supporting patient rights and ensuring patients receive optimal care.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough documentation of patient care activities, adhering to regulatory and institutional standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s degree in Nursing is required
- Current California RN license
- Minimum of three (3) years related experience
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support CPR Card
