As a successful candidate, you will:
- Schedules patient for Radiation Oncology department appointments, including existing patient scheduling, coordination of multidisciplinary appointments with other cancer center departments, and cancellations.
- Schedules follow up appointment and checks in patients using both EPIC and ARIA electronic medical systems.
- Answers phone calls and triages calls to the appropriate department specific location or person.
- Receives and manages phone calls from patients and departments regarding patient appointments.
- Responsible for maintaining and updating quality assurance logs, patient logs, and ARIA tasks and Encounters.
- Reviews and updates future appointments as directed by therapists and or director.
- Checks in patients when they arrive for scheduled appointment and alerts clinical staff of patient arrival. Provides patients with wrist bands for identification.
- Contacts patients as directed who fail to show for scheduled appointments. Re-schedule appointment as directed and indicate reason for cancellation.
- Creates patient welcome packets and is responsible for stocking the work area for supplies.
- Responsible for managing patient wristbands, labels, and scheduling next visit appointments for the CT Simulation visit.
- Greets patients with a warm welcome and establishes the City of Hope Patient experience.
Qualifications
Your qualifications should include:
- High School or equivalent.
- Two years related experience in health care setting.
- Preferably: Two years of experience with patient scheduling or unit clerk experience.
