We have an exciting opportunity to join our Office of Chief Compliance. The Manager of Compliance Operations provides leadership and management to the Ethics and Compliance division’s core functions and initiatives. This role ensures the proper systems, processes, and tools are in place to deliver high quality compliance services in the most efficient and cost-effective manner, including management of internal compliance operations staff, and supporting both internal and external business relationships and vendor management. Under the direction of the Vice President, Organization Ethics and Compliance, this position is directly responsible for managing the foundational components of the Ethics and Compliance program, including but not limited to the compliance hotline and issue management, compliance related policies and procedures, new hire and annual mandatory training, and enterprise wise compliance resources. This role’s scope spans all verticals under the SVP, Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer, requiring close coordination with Internal Audit and Enterprise Risk Management to ensure a consistent approach to operations management.
As a successful candidate, you will:
- Manages and administers operational activities for the Ethics and Compliance division.
- Ensures appropriate budget and expense management through the use of accurate expense tracking systems. Identifies opportunities for efficiency and process improvement.
- Develops reports and responds timely to requests from department leadership.
- Responsible for ensuring the core components of the compliance program operate consistently and efficiently. This includes but is not limited to compliance hotline operations, exclusion screenings, education and training, and reporting.
- Ensures that all compliance program documentation is maintained according to regulatory requirements and department standards.
- Assists department leadership with the development, maintenance, and production of dashboards and reports.
- Manages the compliance hotline and the compliance central matter tracking database/system.
- Ensures hotline reports are triaged and timely assigned to the appropriate team member for investigation.
- Leads in the development and maintenance of governance, risk and compliance (GRC) Management systems.
- Functions as a system administrator for SAI360 system.
- Manages new employee orientation, annual mandatory compliance training and other trainings required of City of Hope workforce members. Tracks and follows up on training completion.
- Communicates with COH leadership on performance evaluation implications for failure to fulfill training requirements.
- Coordinates compliance department contracts/agreements with external vendors.
- Submits agreements into the contract review process, manages through to completion.
Qualifications
Your qualifications should include:
- Bachelor’s Degree; 3 additional years of experience plus the minimum experience requirement may substitute for minimum education.
- At least five (5) years experience in healthcare compliance or related field, preferably in a large academic medical center. Certification in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) or other compliance certification may substitute for one year of compliance experience.
- 1 year of experience in a leadership capacity.
