We're hiring a Pharmacy Technician III! We’re looking for a California-registered technician to work under the supervision of a pharmacist. Responsibilities include packaging, preparing, and compounding oral, intravenous, and chemotherapy/biohazard medications. This role also involves maintaining control procedures, managing inventory, and overseeing stock control. 

As a successful candidate, you will: 

  • Ensure compliance with USP 797 & 800 at all times.
  • Utilize proper aseptic technique for all pharmaceutical mixing.
  • Order, receive, and maintain accurate medication inventory.
  • Coordinate with Specialty Pharmacies or manufactures for timely deliveries of medications for infusion.
  • Performs routine daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning as required.
  • Acts as a liaison with nursing and medical staff concerning basic pharmaceutical information to achieve positive patient outcomes.
  • Assist the pharmacist in billing pharmaceuticals.
  • Accurately prepares floor stock orders and refill all kits.
  • Performs inspections of all pharmacy and all clinical areas where medications are stored and submits audit report to the appropriate individual.
  • Maintains appropriate level of productivity and accuracy.
  • Communicates effectively with all levels of staff. Fosters the development of teamwork within the department while meeting the needs of departments being served.
  • Follows all policies and procedures to allow for effective and efficient patient care.
  • Performs advanced prescription preparation.
  • Conducts quality assurance audits.

Qualifications

Your qualifications should include: 

  • High School or equivalent or Post High School vocational/specialized training or Graduation from a foreign school of Pharmacy
  • 6 years performing related duties as a pharmacy technician
  • Completed Preceptor training program 
  • Licensed as a Pharmacy Technician with the California State Board of Pharmacy AND Certified Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT) from Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
