Laboratory Technical Assistant - Digital Pathology

We are seeking two full-time Laboratory Technologist Assistants (LTA) to join the Digital Pathology department. Reporting to the Supervisor of Digital Pathology, this role supports the digitization of surgical pathology slides, including scanning, archiving, and retrieval for pathology review. The LTA will also assist with various laboratory tasks within specimen processing, contributing to the advancement of digital tissue imaging and analysis.
As a successful candidate, you will:
- Retrieve, archive, scan, and create digital images for pathology review, ensuring accuracy and quality.
- Verify, clean, and label glass slides properly before scanning, relabeling as needed.
- Upload scans to the database and coordinate the receipt and quality assessment of slides from various sources.
- Troubleshoot scanners and software issues, collaborating with IT, vendors, and Clinical Laboratory Scientists.
- Manage scanning projects, meet deadlines, and resolve specimen discrepancies by communicating with providers.
- Adhere to laboratory safety protocols, regulatory requirements, and best practices to ensure quality and compliance.
Qualifications
Your qualifications should include:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Up to one-year experience in a hospital laboratory setting preferred
